GOVT.DEGREE.COLLEGE (MEN), SRIKAKULAM

          The Andhra University School of Distance Education Study centre was established in 1977 and began with PG., U.G. and Diploma Courses at Govt. Degree College (Men), Srikakulam.

 

The School of Distance Education formerly School of correspondence courses of Andhra  University was established on 1st July 1972 with the objective of increasing the access of Higher Education to disadvantaged sections of Society. Initially B.A., B.com. & B.Sc. courses offered with the assistance of U.G.C. liberalized admissions  to B.A.,B.com. Courses under open system was introduced in 1976. The School of Distance Education is run by experienced teachers and educational administrators who always striving  to reach high academic standards.

 

The core academic staff of the school  will carry academic activities with the help of the well experienced  teachers in their respective fields who are working in this college as well as other  Colleges.A student who is enrolled into this school, studies the same syllabi and is awarded the same Degree as in the case of regular courses of this College.

 

A student  after admission into the School of Distance Education  receives study material periodically in all subjects supplement by week-end-personal contact programmes  at  our College to facilitate face to face interaction between the teachers and students. During these Programmes, the teachers will give extensive  review of the subjects and clarified the doubts of the students.

 

About 700 students yearly admitted in various courses of School of Distance Education both U.G. P.G., Diploma & Certificate Courses. Nearly  60% of passed  students are leaving the School of Distance Education yearly to serve the Society.
